Cant hold a temperature

I bought this smoker on sale and the box was falling apart because it has been rained on so much outside. (unsure if its related)

When I set to 225 for example it wont reach temperature for hours. The fire goes out randomly during cooking and the smoker will continue to feed pellets. I clean the burn pot and hopper after every use. I dont have poor quality pellets. Air flow seems sufficient. Not really sure why it cant maintain or reach a temperature but very dissatisfied with this smoker.

Bought 1 used it 3 times and had to bring it back... got a replacement and used it once and had to bring it back.. I dont recommend

Broken After One Use

I used this grill once and during the cool down cycle got the Er 1 code. Will update the review if Vermont Castings customer service rectifies the problem.

Trouble

After using this smoker for a couple years now Ive had multiple issues.
Both issues are all motor/auger related. First issue I had last year was an auger mount screw came out causing the auger to skip when turning.
Now the issue Im having is the augeR is constantly spinning causing an overflow of pellets into the firebox. Obviously this causes temperature issue and eventually starts a fire.
Im currently not able to use the smoker because of this issue.

Love our vermont castings pellet grill!!

Really happy with our new pellet grill from Vermont castings! Moving up from a small size Traeger that we loved but couldn't hold enough for our family of 5. We're so happy with the quality and size of this one! Also love that it has the option to get some direct flame with the pull of a know for a little char when you want it, very convenient!
